From birthdays to backyard barbeques, recognizing a special person or life accomplishment, or engaging in a favorite activity with your community or on your own, there are many ways you can participate in PAWSitive Impact to raise awareness and funds on behalf of Guide Dogs for the Blind’s (GDB) life-changing mission. We gathered some ideas to help get your creative juices flowing.
- Dog Walk-a-Thon: Plan a walk route in your neighborhood or park. Invite your friends and family to register and request donations, then celebrate your fundraising success by walking together with your furry friends!
- Pet Talent Show: Charge an entry fee for owners to showcase their pets' talents. The show can be held in your backyard, at a local venue or even virtually.
- Party with a Purpose: Host a party, large or small, to benefit GDB. Ask for donations for attendance or in lieu of a host or hostess gift.
- Athletic Event: Register for a marathon, 5K, or a personal bucket list challenge. Fundraise while sharing your training progress.
- Dog Bed Workshop: Teach participants to make their own dog beds with proceeds going to GDB. Charity
- Dog Wash: Set up a dog washing station in your community and ask for donations.
- Dog-themed Jewelry Sale: Create and sell dog-themed jewelry with proceeds going to GDB.
- Birthday Fundraiser: Create a birthday fundraiser for yourself, someone you love, your dog, or your guide dog and ask friends and family to make a donation in lieu of gifts.
- Virtual Pup Quiz: Host a dog-themed trivia night online with an entry fee or minimum donation.
- Dog Tag Workshop: Teach how to make personalized dog tags
- Online Dog-Themed Baking Classes: Charge participants to join a virtual baking class featuring dog-themed desserts for humans.
- Guide Dog Appreciation Webinar: Host a webinar about the importance of guide dogs, charging for entry.
- Virtual Dog Sweater Workshop: Teach attendees how to knit or sew their own dog sweaters, with proceeds going to GDB.
- Tactile Art Auction: Host a live or silent auction of tactile artwork.
- Virtual Concert: Invite musicians to perform in an online concert where listeners donate to attend.
